Babierge is the largest baby gear marketplace for traveling families, enabling gig-economy (mostly) moms, called Trusted Partners, to launch their own rental businesses. Babierge rents, delivers and sets up clean, quality baby gear at a family’s hotel, vacation rental, or private home.
The company was founded by Fran Maier, Trish McDermott and Andreas Stenzel. Fran previously co-founded Match.com, where she worked with Trish, and TRUSTe (now TrustArc), where she worked with Andreas. They developed the company after Fran met a mom entrepreneur who built a website to rent extra baby gear that had piled up in her Santa Fe garage. She had her first order — for over $300 — in a matter of days and went on to build a baby gear rental platform.
But Babierge is more than a baby gear rental service. It trains entrepreneurs to launch profitable side gigs while doing meaningful work they love. Babierge is already operational in 145 markets, and opens new markets weekly. The company is committed to empowering its Trusted Partners to become successful entrepreneurs. On average, Trusted Partners take home $630 monthly before expenses, on the higher end of side-gig incomes.

The Babierge team hopes to leverage Quake’s accelerator for its network and mentorship. In particular, they are excited to learn from Quake’s vast experience in digital marketing, operating marketplaces, technology and fundraising, as well as garner introductions to potential strategic partners. They also hope to grow their footprint in New York, where there is a huge market for travelling families and Trusted Partners.
